Built with AI Challenge

Build something useful with AI and win £500, £5,000 or £30,000. Entries are judged on quality against published criteria – there is no draw and no luck involved.

Stage 1
£500

My first AI helper

A small working tool for an everyday problem: a calculator, planner, converter or a chatbot with one clear job. One web page or script is enough. Built for beginners who have read the book.

You send: a link to the working tool or its code, and a short description.

Judging starts at 1,000 entries, or on 1 April 2028 at the latest – whichever comes first.

Stage 2
£5,000

AI for a small business

An app or automation that saves a real business time: orders, invoices, bookings or customer service.

You send: a link, a description and a 2-minute demo video.

Entry numbers and the closing date will be announced before this stage opens.

Stage 3
£30,000

Launch a product

A finished, publicly available app with real users and clear value. Judged like a start-up.

You send: a link, a description and a demo video.

Entry numbers and the closing date will be announced before this stage opens.

How entries are judged

  3. When entries open, sign in to your account and submit: a project title, a public https link (a working app, or the code with a video), and a description of what it does and how you built it with AI.
  4. You can withdraw an entry and get your ticket back while the stage is still open.

You keep the copyright to your project. Entries must be your own work. The full competition rules will be published on this page before entries open, and they will take precedence over this summary. Void where prohibited by local law.
