Who is responsible for your data

What we collect and why
- Orders. When you buy, we store an order reference, the languages you chose, the SumUp checkout reference, the payment status and the date. We need this to give you access and to keep accounting records (contract and legal obligation).
- Payments. SumUp processes your card payment and any details you enter on its payment page, under its own privacy notice. We receive confirmation of the payment, not your full card number.
- Access cookie. After purchase we set one strictly necessary cookie that remembers your access so you do not need to log in. It is not used for advertising.
- Visit statistics. We count page views and visitors without cookies. We do not store your IP address; we keep only a daily scrambled code, the page visited, the referring website name and whether the device is mobile or desktop. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we do not count the visit (legitimate interests).
- Emails. If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as needed to help you.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs to run and secure the website.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, we do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Who we share data with
SumUp (payments), our website hosting provider (Fasthosts) and, where required, HMRC or other authorities. These providers may process data only on our instructions or under their own legal duties.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as you have access to the book and for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records. Visit statistics are kept in daily totals.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain uses, or ask us to restrict how we use it. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
