Set up online appointment booking for customers

Let customers book appointments or consultations online from your real availability, with automatic confirmations and reminders, and far fewer back-and-forth messages.

Estimated time: 1–2 hoursUpdated: 1 October 2026

Use this guide if you spend time arranging appointments by phone, text or email, for example as a tradesperson, therapist, tutor or consultant. Have your working hours, appointment types and lengths, and the calendar you already use ready.

Step by step

  1. Define your appointment types and rules

List each type of appointment, such as a free 15-minute call, a 1-hour site visit or a 45-minute lesson, with its length and any travel or setup time. Decide the rules: how much notice you need, how far ahead people can book, the maximum bookings per day and the buffer between appointments. Writing these down first prevents a booking page that fills your diary in ways you cannot manage.
