Use this guide if pressure from work, family, money or health is building and you feel tense, irritable, tired or unable to switch off. Have a notebook or phone notes app ready. Step by step

  1. Notice how stress shows up for you

Write down the signs you notice in your body, thoughts and behaviour, such as headaches, poor sleep, racing thoughts, snapping at people, or eating or drinking more. Rate how stressed you feel each day for a week from 1 to 10. This gives you an early warning pattern and something concrete to discuss if you seek help.
